COUNCILLORS were due to meet to discuss major plans for two new housing developments comprising around 200 new homes and three new school buildings.
The sites at Tunstall Farm and nearby Quarry Farm, in Hartlepool, were both on the agenda for today’s planning committee meeting at Hartlepool Borough Council.
Councillors were being urged to grant both applications permission despite a combined total of 389 objections from residents around the impact on local wildlife, schools in the area being over-subscribed and flooding and drainage worries.
Also on the agenda are new builds for Manor College of Technology, Barnard Grove Primary School and Holy Trinity C of E Primary School. The Mail will be filming the planning committee for the first time thanks to a change in legislation by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles. The Mail will also be tweeting throughout. Follow @HPoolMail and visit www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk for the results.
