FROM fairground rides to flower displays - there was loads to do for Bank Holiday revellers in Hartlepool and East Durham.

Seaton Carew was buzzing thanks to the Friends of Seaton Park summer spectacular which included a mobile skatepark, climbing wall, cheerleaders and planting in the park’s sensory garden.

Face-painting, rides, crafts and the chance to practice circus skills added to a great day and Seaton councillor Paul Thompson volunteered to go in the stocks.

A new mermaid wood carving as a tribute to former Seaton councillor Cath Hill was also named.

In East Durham, Blackhall Commmunity Centre hosted its flower and vegetable show with 38 categories including long leeks, heaviest onion, parsnips, dahlias, gladioli and chrysanthemums, and categories for baking and children.

Watch out for more coverage on both great events in the Hartlepool Mail later this week.
