THE rain is forecast to stay away this bank holiday weekend with temperatures rising over the next few days.

It’s been a largely dull week in Hartlepool and East Durham with heavy mist and rain over the past four days but it’s set to brighten up over the weekend.

The sun was forecast to shine on Hartlepool throughout the day today although temperatures were only predicted to reach highs of 9C.

And despite the clouds thickening on Saturday, it will stay dry and get up to around 12C.

Those temperatures will rise again on Sunday to around 14C and again on Monday with highs expected of around 15C, allowing residents to enjoy bank holidays events planned in the town across the weekend.
