A BROKEN barrier at a busy level crossing caused confusion for motorists on Sunday.
The barrier at the Church Street level crossing jammed for around two hours yesterday afternoon for the third time in the last two weeks.
Network Rail engineers managed to fix the problem at around 4pm and an investigation was launched to find out what caused the barrier to get stuck.
A Network Rail spokeswoman said the problems may have been caused by the strong winds which battered the town yesterday.
The crossing had to be marshalled by police officers after the barrier had encountered problems last Tuesday and also broke the week before last.
