Bingo player's purse-snatch drama
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner had her purse stolen while walking home from a game of bingo.
The woman, believed to be in her 60s, had over 100 stolen during the incident which happened on the Central Estate in Hartlepool as she walked home from a game of bingo at the Herenspool Community Centre.
Police said a man grabbed the purse from the woman during the incident, which took place on Wednesday evening at around 9pm.
Officers said he was last seen running in the direction of Cleveland Road.
He is described as being white, around 5ft 10in tall, with a thin face.
He is believed to be in his 20s and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a hat, a light coloured fleece jacket with a navy sweatshirt underneath, jeans and light coloured trainers.
