Body found in house

POLICE sealed off a town centre house after the body of a man was discovered.

A house in Hartlepool's Park Square was taped off for more than three hours after the body of the 52-year-old man was discovered inside yesterday morning.

Neighbours reported seeing detectives, two police vans, two police cars, an ambulance and a team of forensic officers at the scene.

A post mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of death.

Shocked neighbours have described the man as quiet

and someone who kept "himself to himself".

Police, who were called by the ambulance service, say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The police spent around three hours at the scene before the body was taken away in a private ambulance just before 2pm yesterday.

The body was found inside a terraced house in the corner of the picturesque Park Square, which is off Hart Lane, in the centre of town.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The body of a 52-year-old man was found in an address on Park Square, in Hartlepool, at around 11.15am on Thursday.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A post mortem examination will take place in due course."
