Daffodils are out and the sun is feeling warmer – but both have been hard to see recently due to blankets of fog.
It’s been a miserable few days along the coast of Hartlepool and East Durham.
An easterly wind has made it cloudy, cool and misty with rain showers making driving difficult.
But hope of seeing the sun is on the horizon, albeit not imminent.
The Met Office expect it to stay dull, cold and fairly miserable until Friday, when forecasters say there will be a ‘cloudy start with showers’ but it will be ‘brighter and mainly dry later’.
The weekend is then expected to be a mixture of bright spells and showers with breezy spells.
