BREAKING NEWS: Car smashes into shop

A MOTORIST had to be cut from a car after it crashed into a shop.

The man was cut from a Vauxhall Corsa that careered off the road after it was involved in a collision with a Ford Mondeo estate car at around 12.40pm today.

The Corsa smashed into the Cool Appliances shop in Elwick Road, near to the junctions with Baden Street and Arncliffe Gardens.

Police and two fire engines were called to the scene and the road remains closed.
