THE abysmal wet weather that has plagued Hartlepool and East Durham since late last week looks set to clear up into the coming week.

After dull weather and showers which have hit the area since Thursday, the outlook is looking a bit brighter over the next few days.

The rain will give way to cloud over the week, with a high of 12C on Monday and 6mph winds.

The temperature will remain pretty much the same during the course of the week, dropping to 11C on Tuesday, 10C on Wednesday and 9C on Thursday, which is when winds will pick up slightly, reaching 16mph.
