Busy year for lifesavers at Hartlepool RNLI

HARTLEPOOL’S lifeboat crew rescued 89 people last year according to new figures released by the RNLI.

The crew, based in Ferry Road, were launched 52 times to various incidents requiring their assistance.

Crews across the North East were all kept busy during 2013, with a hot summer and then storms in the later part of the year, and Sunderland’s team were the busiest with 89 call-outs.
