A MAN escaped serious injury after his car was involved in a collision with a bus.
Emergency services were called to Catcote Road, near the junction with Truro Drive, around 7pm after a collision between a red Nissan Qashqai and a Stagecoach bus.
The collision happened near the Fens shopping parade exit.
The man was treated to by paramedics from St John’s Ambulance at the scene, but was not taken to hospital.
Two appliances from Stranton Fire Station and three police cars attended.
An eye-witness who was on the scene moments after the crash, who rang 999, said: “The bus and car were in a collision as the car came out of the car park. “The driver was trapped in the car but he managed to get himself out.
“The bus driver appeared to be okay and was talking to police.”
A spokesman for Stranton Fire Station said: “We made the vehicle safe but did not need to cut the man free and were at the scene for 20 minutes.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We attended the incident but nobody was transported to hospital.
“The patient was treated at the scene.”
