Car parts firm raided
THIEVES raided a car parts firm and stole thousands of pounds worth of tools and equipment.
Detectives are investigating a burglary at Mecaplast, in Fiennes Road, on Peterlee’s North West Industrial Estate.
Thieves lifted the heavy gates out of their mountings and police believe at least four people were involved.
A steel container was broken into and among the haul of items stolen are a £500 petrol generator, a vibrating unit and poker which was on hire, a £450 still-saw, a nine-inch grinder with a diamond blade worth £100, a 110-volt chip saw worth £130 and a TE76 drill and breaker worth £700.
Twenty litres of gas oil, Makita drills, a Milwaukee C impact driver, a hammer drill and a Bosch circular saw were also taken during the incident, which is said to have taken place overnight between yesterday and Wednesday.
