Car smashes into railings outside of Hartlepool school

POLICE were called to a car that crashed into barriers outside of a school.

The white Peugeot 107 car left the road for reasons unknown and collided with the railings outside of St Aidan’s School, in Loyalty Road, opposite The Greenside pub.

The driver of the vehicle is believed to have escaped uninjured.

Officers said the position of the car was blocking the entrance to Loyalty Road and they were awaiting a recovery vehicle to move it.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “There were fortunately no injuries in this incident, just damage to the car and railings.”

The incident happened at 8.35am today.
