TV STAR Crissy Rock boosted a Hartlepool charity shop’s appeal for donations when she made a pre-Christmas visit.

Crissy, best known for her appearances in ITV comedy Benidorm and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, dropped in at the YMCA shop, in Raby Road, on Saturday.

Shoppers turned out to see the telly star throughout the day, and she took along sacks of presents with her for all the children who called in to see her.

The Peterlee-based actress was invited to the store by manager Jill Dixon and urged the people of the town to help the charity out by making donations and buying from the store.

Crissy said: “The staff who manage these stores do a wonderful job, and I was delighted to call in and give them a bit of support.

“Having seen the work the staff do, it really is a great cause and every single donation is hugely appreciated.”

Manageress Jill, of the Fens area of Hartlepool, said: “It was great that Crissy came to support us, this is her second visit to help the YMCA in recent months.

“She took a great interest in what we do, and was delighted to have photos taken with customers.

“It has proved to be one of our best days of the year and a terrific boost for the store.”
