Chance to watch seals
A CLOSE-UP view of seals in their natural environment is on offer to families this week.
A five mile walk is beckoning for people to get a glimpse of some of the seals of Teesmouth as they rest in Greatham Creek, on the outskirts of Hartlepool.
The walk also includes a chance to spy on the birds of the Tees Estuary from the comfort of Natural England's hides overlooking the Seal Sands.
Countryside warden Robert Smith said: "This is a perfect half-term opportunity for nature lovers of all ages to take a stroll from Greatham to the mouth of the Tees encountering on the way not only seals but very possibly birds such as little egret and shelduck."
The walk starts at the Sheaf Thrower statue, near the Community Centre, in Greatham Village, at 12.30pm tomorrow and should finish by 3pm.
