Cinema evacuated in fire drama

AROUND 100 people were evacuated from a cinema after burned food set off a fire alarm.

Firefighters were called to the Vue Cinema at The Lanyard, Hartlepool, after being alerted by an automatic fire alarm at 8.45pm yesterday.

Crew manager Gordon Goodison said it was a false alarm caused by some burned food in the kitchen area.
