Claire kicks into action
A KICKBOXING mum has seen her dream come true by opening her own fitness business.
Claire Brannen has launched Claire's Ultimate Fitness, based at the Horsley Buildings, on Hartlepool's Headland.
The 27-year-old, from the King Oswy area of town, has combined her energetic lifestyle with newly-acquired business skills from InBiz to start her new classes.
Claire, who previously worked as a fitness instructor for the Headland Development Trust, said: "I'm my own boss now. It feels really good to be more independent.
"I've always wanted my own business. Eventually I'd like to expand and open my own gym with fitness machines."
Claire featured in the Mail's Family Life section last year, describing her love of kickboxing and how her daughter Alisha, now 10, had also taken up the sport.
Energetic Claire, who has been kickboxing for 10 years, still teaches classes at various venues around town, including aqua-fitness at Mill House Leisure Centre, and girls' football at Barnard Grove Primary School, but now she is offering a range of fitness sessions at the Throston Street building.
She will be running circuit training classes, kickbox aerobics, bums and tums classes and ladies kickboxing.
And she is offering a taster of what is on offer during a free session tomorrow between 3pm and 4pm.
