TWO fire engines were called to a house fire in a town centre street.

The crews were sent to Sheriff Street, off Murray Street, in Hartlepool, around 3.30pm on Monday.

A Cleveland Fire Brigade spokeswoman said there had been a small amount of fire damage to the roof joists and a fascia board.

It is not thought anyone was injured in the incident.

Firefighters used canvas buckets to put out the flames.
