Cyclist injured in hit and run
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was the victim of a hit and run incident.
The 47-year-old cyclist was involved in a collision with an unknown motor vehicle on Sunday evening at around 10.20pm.
The man, who was wearing a high visibility vest, was cycling along Cowpen Lane, in Billingham, towards the junction of Marsh House Avenue when the incident happened.
The vehicle collided with him from behind and the driver failed to stop, leaving the scene immediately and the cyclist injured.
He was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, with a broken bone in his foot, grazing to his arm and back pains.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incident, to call PC Martin Tranmer on (01642) 302226.
