Driver taken to hospital after car overturned

A DRIVER had to be pulled free from his car after it overturned on A689.

The man in his mid-30s was taken to hospital complaining of pain in his right leg after he was rescued by firefighters.

His BMW Z3 car landed on its side on a grass verge on the A689 near Wynyard village just after 9.30am on Friday.

The vehicle collided with a lamppost, but no other vehicles were involved.

Fire engines from Stockton and Billingham attended the incident, along with the ambulance service.

The motorist was said to be from the Ferryhill area.
