A BUSY dual carriageway which was closed due to a spillage from a tanker was re-opened around five hours after the incident was reported.
The A19 southbound near to the A689 Wolviston turn-off was closed due to a spillage of “tolene” – a flammable substance.
The leak of a substance sparked an emergency services operation and closure of the busy dual carriageway from around 6pm last night.
Cleveland Police has confirmed that the road was re-opened around 11.30pm.
Workers from the company which owns the tanker were at the scene with police officers last night, while a crew of firefighters from Stockton Fire Station remain on standby.
