EMERGENCY services were called after a three-vehicle collision on a main road into Hartlepool.
The smash happened around 5.45pm on Tuesday on the A689, near Truro Drive.
It is believed to have involved a number of people who were checked over at the scene by paramedics, but one person was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.
A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service, which sent an ambulance and two rapid response paramedic vehicles to the scene, said: “We received a report of a three-vehicle road traffic collision at 5.45pm. “A number of people were involved.
“We took one patient to the University Hospital of North Tees, having left the scene shortly before 7pm.
“We have not been updated on the severity of the injuries.”
