Fined over dog attack
A WOMAN has been fined after her Staffordshire Bull Terrier savaged another dog while out for a walk.
Debra Bowe, 43, was found guilty of contravening the Dangerous Dogs Act after the Jack Russell which was attacked suffered a severe bite wound to its right eye, which required veterinary treatment.
Bowe, of Newbury Way, Billingham, was fined 100 and ordered to pay 50 towards costs and a 15 surcharge at Teesside Magistrates' Court. She was also ordered to keep the dog on a lead and muzzled at all times when in public.
Bowe admitted she had unclipped her dog's lead before ensuring there were no other dogs in the vicinity and accepted that her dog can be aggressive towards other dogs
