Firefighters rescue boy from roof
FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a young boy who had climbed onto a house roof.
The 12-year-old could not get down after clambering onto the top of an unoccupied end-terraced house in Kathleen Street, in the Belle Vue area of Hartlepool.
A crew from Stranton Fire Station was called and put up a ladder against the house and a roof ladder up to the boy.
The youngster, who is said to live nearby, was brought down safely to be met by his mother at around 8.45pm last night.
Watch manager Ian Brown said: "The climbing up bit is easy, but it's a bit harder to get down.
"It seems he was just larking about. He was fine, but had just got himself a bit stuck.
"His mum was there when he came down to give him a good telling off."
