Firefighters tackle fire in kitchen of home in Horden

FIRE crews were called to a kitchen fire.

Two crews from Peterlee Fire Station were sent to a house in Park Terrace, in Horden, around 5.20pm on Wednesday.

Two sets of breathing apparatus and a fan were used during the incident, which saw firefighters in attendance for around half an hour.

A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “At 5.19pm we received a call informing us of a house fire in Park Terrace, Horden.

“Two appliances from Peterlee Fire Station were dispatched.

“This was a small fire in the kitchen and two sets of breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan were in use.

“At 5.40pm the use of the breathing apparatus and fan were discontinued.”
