Glimpse of Owton Manor

PEOPLE have the chance to take part in a museum project.

Residents living in the Owton Manor area of Hartlepool are being invited to take part in the project to record some of their daily life for posterity.

The project, called Family Album, is a photography project for people who live or spend time in and around Wynyard Road, Owton Manor Road and Catcote Road and will be launched at an event in Owton Manor Branch Library, Wynyard Road, on Thursday from 10am to noon.

It has been devised by the library and the Museum of Hartlepool.

Outreach officer for Hartlepool Borough Council's Museums and heritage service, Sandra Brauer, said: "We would like to get a glimpse of how people in Owton Manor live today so we are inviting people in the area to take digital photographs of their daily lives.

"The photographs will be used to tell the story of the area in an exhibition of images which will be arranged by the residents in partnership with the Museums and Heritage Service.

"We hope local people of all ages will come along to Thursday's event to find out more and get involved."

For more information, people should contact Sandra Brauer or Stuart Jones on (01429) 284334 or (01429) 284412 or email stuart.jones@hartlepool.gov.uk
