A CHARITY golf day held at Wynyard was deemed a huge success after it raised £9,000 for local good causes.
Wynyard Golf Club hosted the Mayor of Stockton’s annual golf day which saw 32 teams tee off for charity.
The Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Barbara Inman hosted the popular fundraising event at the club when golfers battled to get their hands on the prized winner’s trophy.
Councillor Inman, said: “I am absolutely delighted that the golf day was such a huge success.
“It was a really fun way of supporting the charities and raising awareness of the important and invaluable work they do to help others.
“I would like to thank everyone who took part and helped to organise the event.”
The money raised will be shared equally between the mayor’s chosen charities.
They are the Eastern Ravens Trust, which supports young people and families across the Stockton area.
The second is Marie Curie Cancer Care, which provides care and support for people with terminal illness and their family members.
The fundraising continued into the evening with a Gala Dinner where the Mayor presented the winners’ trophy.
Top honours went to Tunstall Healthcare who were the day’s overall winners.
Wynyard Golf Club recently took part in Stockton council’s Golf Week.
The four-day event gave keen golfers the chance to compete at some of the region’s finest courses at discounted rates.
