TEMPORARY traffic lights have reappeared at a busy junction just a week after they were removed.
The four-way lights at the junction of Raby Road, Middleton Road and Hart Lane, in Hartlepool, were put up yesterday.
Lights in the same area were removed after three months only last week.
But Hartlepool Borough Council says they will only be in place for a couple of days.
It is to allow British Telecom to carry out some underground works.
The recent works have been to pave the way for a further roadworks scheme in Middleton Road in the autumn, when new right hand lane for vehicles turning right onto Raby Road will be created to improve traffic flow and safety.
Details of how those works will be managed have still to be finalised.
A council spokesman said: “We will do everything we can to minimise inconvenience for motorists.
“The previous works involved moving underground cables to pave the way for the next phase of the scheme.
“It is all part of the council’s ongoing effort to improve the roads and safety throughout the town.”
