Robbie Payne (Labour)

I’m delighted to have been selected as the Labour Party candidate for the Jesmond Ward in the forthcoming local elections, having previously lived in the ward for many years and I still have family and friends in the area.

I have served as a councillor for 20 years, which has given me the experience and knowledge in the democratic process to take and make hard decisions.

If elected I’ll make every effort to be an accessible and visible councillor - available via phone and email and will make personal house calls if required and hold regular street and ward surgeries.

I’ve had previous success with publishing ward newsletters and this is something I would bring to Jesmond - working with ward colleagues - to keep residents up to date with what is going on in the area.

I strongly believe that councillors should be seen all year round and not just at election time.

Jayne Wells (Local Conservatives) (no picture supplied)

I am standing as the Local Conservative Candidate for the Jesmond Ward in the local elections.

I have lived in Hartlepool for all of my life and I feel that change is necessary in order to deliver better local services for the people of the Ward and Hartlepool in general.

Currently the Jesmond Ward has the usual issues with litter, dog fouling and anti-social behaviour, however Jesmond also has problems with a lack of adequate transport provision and recreational facilities.

I would like to help change this for the better, whilst ensuring good value for money.

But I can only do this with your help.

Conservative run councils provide cost effective services at a lower cost to the taxpayer, so please let me help make the positive changes you deserve in Jesmond by voting Conservative on May 5th.

John Tennant (UKIP)

I want Hartlepool to have our important services back, such as our A&E department, it is an outrage that we lost it in the first place.

I don’t trust Labour to fight this battle, Jesmond has been neglected by Labour and it is time to put an end to inaction.

I intend to be your public servant, listening to the needs of everyone in the area and giving you strong representation.

Hartlepool Council needs strong opposition and UKIP can provide this, by fighting any further council tax increases, tackling housing, bringing back our A&E department and making Hartlepool a successful town once again.

Let’s put an end to high youth unemployment and work hard to bring exciting investment to our town.

If you want strong opposition, vote UKIP on May 5th.
