HARTLEPOOL’S lifeboat was launched to help a stricken vessel which ran into trouble not far from the town’s marina.

The town’s RNLI volunteers were sent to the aid of a small pleasure craft called The Perfect Storm, which had cooling problems before breaking down just outside the marina.

There were two people on board the pleasure craft.

The inshore lifeboat was launched at 4.20pm on Sunday and spent about 40 minutes towing the 22ft vessel back inshore.
