Headteacher Mark Tilling said: “This is fantastic news for High Tunstall College of Science and demonstrates the high quality of STEM subjects within our curriculum.

“The college works very hard with the business community and its partner organisations to ensure that our curriculum is aligned to current and future employers’ needs.

“I am very proud that High Tunstall is the first secondary school in the country to achieve this award and I would like to thank students, staff and everyone else who has contributed to this significant achievement.”

Over 200 children from primary feeder schools will also be given a taste of what High Tunstall has to offer.
