Hartlepool at war talk

A RESTAURANT owner is celebrating after his business was recommended in a prestigious guide.

Krimo’s restaurant, on Hartlepool Marina, has been included in Harden’s London and UK Restaurants Guide 2006, and owner Krimo Bouabda couldn’t be happier.

The 52-year-old said: “It makes me feel proud to put Hartlepool on the map. We’ve been here for 21 years and it’s nice to still be here after so long.”

Krimo, a father-of-one, knew nothing about being in the guide until he received a letter with a copy of the guide through the post last week.

He said: “I had a look in the Hartlepool section and there we were. I’m completely delighted.”

The guide rates Krimo’s food as “very good”, the service as “very good”, and the ambiance as “good”.

Krimo said: “Restaurants are entered by diners. People write in to the guide and recommend eating houses.”

Krimo’s was also the first restaurant to represent Hartlepool in the Michelin Guide.

Krimo said: “People trust the name Krimo’s. They come to us because they know the quality, and hopefully it will carry on for a very long time to come.”

He also owns two other restaurants on the marina, Portofino’s and the newly-opened Casa Del Mar.

Casa Del Mar is a tapas bar and restaurant, where Krimo has created handmade mosaics to give the restaurant a Mediterranean feel.
