HEAVY rain is set to hit Hartlepool and East Durham in the coming week.
Tonight is expected to be mostly cloudy with heavy rain and strong winds possible.
It will turn cold with possible frost as the cloud breaks during the night. Some fog is possible as temperatures drop to -1C.
That fog could linger into the morning but it should otherwise be mainly dry with bright or sunny spells, although there will be a chance of isolated showers developing later. Temperatures will peak at around 7C.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are set to have bright spells with chances of showers at times and it will become quite breezy towards the end of the week.
