GamCare is a non-judgmental charity that provides free counselling and support for anyone experiencing problems because of gambling, including partners and family.

Its counsellors can also explore issues from people’s pasts which may be contributing to gambling problems.

Gamblers Anonymous runs meetings to offer help and support.

The nearest to Hartlepool is at Salvation Army Citadel, Admiral Way, Middlesbrough, on Mondays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Internet forums are also available at gamblersanonymous.org.uk.

Hartlepool Citizens Advice Bureau can help with debt problems. Call in at 87 Park Road.
