Help on pet care for Beavers

A PET superstore is offering free workshops to young groups of cubs scouts and beavers to help them reach their badge requirements.

Pets at Home, which has a store on Marina Way, in Hartlepool, are inviting youngsters into the shop to offer them tips and advice on looking after pets.

To obtain their animal friend badge, Beaver Scouts will learn how to care for small animals, fish or insects and the correct types of food to feed them, including type, variety and quantity.

They will also find out the right habitats for small animals, where they sleep and how to ensure they get the appropriate level of exercise.

To help gain their animal carer badge, children will find out about different types of freshwater, sea water or tropical fish and what food they eat in the in-store aquatic centre.

Store manager Peter Stonehouse said: "Our in-store pet advisers are always happy to share their extensive knowledge of animal care."

Call into the store for more information.
