COUNCILLORS will meet next week to discuss plans for 100 new houses on the University Hospital of Hartlepool site.
Permission for the houses on the east of the Holdforth Road site was originally granted four years ago.
But members of Hartlepool Borough Council’s planning committee will meet again next week to discuss the plan.
The trust is looking for permission to extend the time for it to start, given that it was originally granted back in September 2010.
A planning report said the application for two and three-bedroom houses is going to the planning committee because there had been nine objections.
A report said: “The original permission was for outline planning permission for residential development, comprising 100 units with all matters reserved at land at the University Hospital of Hartlepool.
“The reserved matters include access, landscaping, appearance, layout and scale. The purpose of this outline planning application is to establish the principle of the proposed development.”
To the north and east of the site is existing residential development. It is bounded on the west and part of the south by operational hospital buildings. Councillors meet Wednesday, May 14, at 10am at the Civic Centre, in Victoria Road.
