Hunt for owners of huge haul
PC Adam Jassat at Peterlee Police station
WORK is underway to find out who the genuine owners of this huge haul are.
Police believe the goods are stolen and are trying to establish where they were taken from and who they belong to.
Chinese plates, candle sticks, electrical items, a bike and tools are included in those being stored at Peterlee Police Station.
Detective Sergeant Cliff Down, of Seaham CID, said: “These have been recovered from a flat in Peterlee.
“We believe they may have been stolen in the area in the last few weeks from garages and sheds.”
Two people aged in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and bailed pending further inquiries.
Police have also issued a reminder to householders to make sure their homes and outbuildings are locked to deter opportunist thieves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101, with crime prevention advice available from the same number.
