RESIDENTS of Hartlepool can keep up to date with all the news from a successful environmental project via its latest newsletter.
The winter edition of the Wild Green Spaces in Hartlepool project newsletter is now available and contains a wealth of useful information.
The three-year project aims to involve local people in a range of works to improve and develop the town’s parks and local nature reserves to create wildlife havens.
There is also a photographic feature highlighting some of the practical improvement works carried out around the town in recent months.
Becky Stanley, Wild Green Spaces in Hartlepool project officer, said: “The project is all about involving local people in a range of schemes to improve the town’s environment and the newsletter enables us to reach out to them.
“I hope that after reading the newsletter some people may be inspired to get involved in the project.”
The Wild Green Spaces in Hartlepool project was awarded a National Lottery grant of more than £350,000 following a successful bid by Hartlepool Borough Council in partnership with the Environment Agency and the Burn Valley Project Steering Group.
It is being funded by Natural England through its Access to Nature initiative which, in turn, is part of the Big Lottery Fund’s Changing Spaces programme.
