AN investigation has been launched to determine the cause of a fire in a living room.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in a home in Grange Close, Peterlee, at around 7.45am yesterday.
Two appliances from Peterlee Station attended the property to put the fire out.
Fortunately nobody was in the house at the time of the fire.
The living room was badly fire damaged and the rest of the house was smoke damaged.
A Peterlee Station spokesman said: “The fire was confined to the living room and luckily the house was empty at the time.
“The rest of the house was quite badly smoke damaged.”
