JUDGES at an annual beauty pageant had some tough choices to make as girls went head-to-head to be crowned as the winner.
Each year the Hartlepool Carnival is represented by a Carnival Princess, who has the honour of appearing at the opening of the fairground and on Parade Day.
The Headland Social Club was packed as a parade of locals were put through their paces before being quizzed by the judging panel.
And after plenty of deliberations, Jenna Evans was declared as the winner after pipping Bethany Ingram and Danielle Harrison into second and third place respectively.
A Carnival committee spokesman said: “The night where we choose the winner is always a popular event on our calendar, and we were grateful to everyone who turned up to support us.
“We had a good crowd in, and there was an excellent atmosphere.
“The judges had some touch decisions to make and there was a lot of discussion taking place, but in the end Jenna was a worthy winner.”
The next date for the diary from the Carnival programme is the opening of the fairground tomorrow.
And we’ve got some money-off vouchers for the rides below.
