THE NUMBER of people claiming jobless benefit has fallen in Hartlepool and East Durham.
The latest government figures show the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance fell from 4,728 in November to 4,715 in December.
In Easington there was a fall from 3,463 in November to 3,406 last month.
Sedgefield saw a fall from 2,643 in November to 2,630 in December.
And the Stockton North constituency, which includes Billingham, Wolviston and parts of Wynyard, saw a rise from 4,162 in November to 4,173 in December.
