YOUNGSTERS got up close and personal with some exotic animals during a fun activity session at a popular countrty park.
Summerhill Country Park, off Catcote Road in Hartlepool, welcomed Jay’s Animal Encounter to the facility last week and dozens of children turned up with the parents to see what was on offer.
Many of the children bravely held a selection of the animals, including snakes, spiders and lizards.
Summerhill’s outdoor activity co-ordinator Adam Reah said the event turned out to be a huge success, and added that the animals’ owner Jay Gunn would be heading back to the town next year.
Adam said: “I was looking on the internet for something different, and I liked the look of this to keep people occupied. We wanted to put a new flavour on the place, and Jay’s Animal Encounter certainly did that. It was like his own independent zoo, and the kids loved getting close to the animals. We did six sessions throughout the day, and it was absolutely brilliant.
“The feedback from the children and their parents was excellent, and I was over the moon with how the event went.”
