THREE people were taken to hospital after a car crashed into the central reservation of the A19.
A Hyundai 120 crashed on the A19 northbound, near the Sheraton interchange, around 2.30pm on Thursday.
Officers from the Cleveland and Durham joint specialist operations unit attended the incident.
The inside lane was still closed around 4.15pm while the vehicle was being recovered.
A Durham Police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that there are no major injuries and those involved have attended local hospitals as a precaution.”
A North East Ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call to the A19 at Sheraton at 2.25pm on Thursday and three people were taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, with non life-threatening injuries.”
