Lots in store for physio firm

A FLOURISHING physiotherapy firm has signed a deal with one of the biggest supermarket chains in the world.

Hartlepool-based Paul Gough Physio Rooms, based in Church Street, has clinched a contract with the Teesport branch of Asda.

Asda will use the service to maintain a healthy workforce and keep down rates of people who have to miss work because of injury.

Company owner Paul Gough said he was "extremely proud" of his team.

Maria Morris, senior people manager of the Asda depot in Teesport, said hundreds of colleagues will benefit from Paul's services.

He also praised his practice manager Vicki Smith for helping to put a professional proposal to Asda.

This latest agreement caps a fantastic summer for Paul who was recently chosen to be senior medical expert at this summer's Paul Scholes Soccer Academy, in Florida.

His company also now has four branches in Hartlepool, Durham, Darlington and Guisborough.

Back in April, the Mail revealed how Paul Gough Physio Rooms had won the contract to provide physiotherapy services to the 500 member companies within the North East Process Industry Cluster of major chemical companies.

Paul's company also provides an occupational physiotherapy service to local companies such as Housing Hartlepool and Tomlinson Hall of Billingham.

The latest agreement will see Paul Gough Physio Rooms working with staff at the Asda Teesport depot to ensure injured workers are given every chance to recover quickly from injury.

Paul said: "There are many companies out there who like to tell their staff that they are valued and needed yet are not prepared to do much more than talk.

"Asda is definitely not such a company. They have a genuine track record of creating a welcoming environment for their colleagues

and they back this up by the fact that they are prepared to delve into their profits to ensure their staff's wellbeing through a private physio service".

Ms Morris said: "We are really pleased to offer this valuable physiotherapy service to injured colleagues here at the Asda import Centre in Teesport and are looking forward to working with Paul and his skilled team."
