A MAN has died after being flown to hospital when he collapsed in the street.
The Great North Air Ambulance (GNAA) landed on the Central Estate, in Hartlepool, around 5.30pm on Tuesday to tend to a 54-year-old man who had collapsed in nearby Bridgepool Close.
Paramedics airlifted the man to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where sadly he was pronounced dead by doctors.
A GNAA spokesman said: “We were called at 5.19pm to Bridgepool Close to reports of a 54-year-old male who had had a cardiac arrest in the street. “We airlifted the man to James Cook University Hospital.”
