A MAN has died after collapsing on a Hartlepool pier.
The man, who has not been named, was rushed to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, after the incident on Saturday night.
He lost his fight for life at the hospital.
Medics contacted Cleveland Police, but officers have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police were contacted by staff at the University Hospital of North Tees at around 8pm on Saturday reporting the death of a man who had been brought in from the Hartlepool area.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
No other details about the man or the pier he collapsed on have been released.
