Man 'went shoplifting for the day'
A THIEF lined a plastic bag with aluminium foil and went shoplifting for the day.
David Alan Howard first targeted Curry's but when he was "turfed out" by staff he made his way into Asda, a court heard.
The 38-year-old took five computer games off the shelves and placed them into the foil-lined bag before being stopped as he tried to leave the supermarket.
Prosecuting, Joanne Hesse told Hartlepool Magistrates' Court: "He said to police that he woke up that morning and decided he was going to go shoplifting for the day."
Howard, of St Bees Walk, in Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to theft and going equipped to steal on August 14.
Chairman of the bench John Glancey ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the bag, fined him 65 and ordered him to pay 85 costs and a 15 victim surcharge.
