EASTER weekend is in for a mixed bag of weather in Hartlepool according to forecasters.

The sun is due to be out for most of today and should stay shining for the majority of the day, says the Met Office.

But it will be a breezy and cool day with temperatures not getting above eight degrees Celsius.

Saturday is also set to be another sunny day with the temperature rising slightly.

The wind is expected to pick up reaching 21mph by mid afternoon.

But visibility will be good add forecasters.

After that, the remainder of the Bank Holiday weekend is due to be mainly dull and cloudy.

Easter Sunday itself should stay dry until around 4pm when some light rain is expected.

The wind continues to pick up pace reaching 29mph.

Bank Holiday Monday may see some early light rain but the rest of the day is due to stay dry.

But the cloud will remain and it will feel a chilly five degrees Celsius for anyone heading out for a walk by the beach or to cheer on Hartlepool United at Victoria Park.

But the Met Office believes it will brighten up slightly from mid afternoon and it will be another blustery day.
