HARTLEPOOL and East Durham look set to be in for a mixed weather forecast over the coming week after last week’s storms.

It comes after the A689 into Hartlepool, near the Fens Estate, was reduced to one lane after the high winds caused a manhole cover to collapse on Saturday.

Heavy rain is expected from lunchtime on Monday onwards, though this should give way to a dry cloudy night.

But wind speeds are due to reach 24mph tonight.

Tuesday looks set to be dry but cloudy throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of 9C and top wind speeds of 19mph.

On Wednesday, there will be sunny spells, top temperatures of 8C and top wind speeds of 15mph.

But the wind speeds will pick up on Thursday, reaching 34mph and expect rain showers throughout the day.
