Hartlepool MP Iain Wright chatting to Radio Stitch presenter Dan Walton.

HARTLEPOOL MP Iain Wright talked music and politics as he was invited to an interview on hospital radio.

The town’s Parliamentary representative spent an hour chatting to Dan Walton, one of the presenter’s on Radio Stitch which airs in the University Hospital of Hartlepool and the University Hospital of North Tees.

Mr Wright talked about everything from the horse meat scandal to Hartlepool United – and he even got a chance to pick out some of his favourite records.

“It was a good opportunity to go along and speak to Dan and I really enjoyed it,” he said.

“Going on Radio Stitch was a first for me and I was particularly impressed with the fact they had the Stone Roses song Mersey Paradise which they played for me.”

Mr Wright talked about his role as the MP for Hartlepool and gave an insight into the working of the House of Commons.

He expressed his concerns about the current horse meat scandal and encouraged people to buy meat from their local butchers.

Presenter Dan, said: “On behalf of everyone at Radio Stitch and from North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, we would like to say a big thank you to Iain for taking time out of his busy schedule to drop in.

“It was an enlightening interview and it was a chance for Mr Wright to share his love of music, talk about life in the Commons and share his thoughts on the horse meat issue.

“Mr Wright also talked about how the love of football transcends political boundaries.

“He explained how he’d promised to text a friend of his on the opposite bench in the House of Commons, who’s a life-long supporter of Leyton Orient, when Pools played the London side last week.”
